Mumbai, October 26, 2018 – The 2018 IPN Global Best Awards which was held at NASA, Jackson Space Station, Houston has eulogized and felicitated BSE Institute Ltd. for its effort to provide employment opportunities to the youth in Asia.
Mr. George Abby, former director of NASA’s Jackson Space Centre and Mr. William McArthur, American Astronaut presented the award to Shri Ambarish Datta, MD & CEO, BSE Institute Limited and Mr. Rahul Ranadive, Vice President, BSE Institute Limited.
BSE Institute Limited launched a program that would allow to expedite the training of the graduate populace that was looking for jobs, while simultaneously addressing the serious need for a workforce for Investment Banking Back Offices in India. The resultant of these efforts is the Certificate Program in Investment Banking Operations. It is a course which prepares graduates for investment banking operations job roles. The course provides career and training opportunities to youth. The program has been created in consultation with the industry experts. In a duration of 10 weeks, students acquire in-depth knowledge of investment banking back office operations as well as personal & professional development skills.
Most firms spend approximately 3 to 6 months and a small fortune for training prospective candidates for these jobs. This is because graduates in India don’t emerge from universities as “job-ready candidates”. An average graduate is unable to meet the selection criteria of most employers because of lack of domain specific knowledge and lack of job skills. Most Investment banks preferred hiring only MBAs for the back office job role thereby focusing on a segment that is far more employable than the average graduate. This adds to the pool of educated unemployed youth. BSE Institute Ltd launched the program to expedite training of the graduate populace who are looking for jobs, while simultaneously addressing the serious need of trained workforce for Investment Banking Back Offices in India. The Program impacted over 1000 underprivileged graduate youth, from various Government & Private Colleges across multiple cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Thane. BSE Institute Limited designed and developed the content in consultation with the industry and academic experts. Placement linkages were built before commencement of training program thereby significantly increasing the probability of the candidate securing a job at the end of training process. Furthermore, training curriculum was developed and validated by experts from global investment banks, quarterly industry seminars were organized to assess the job roles that were in demand, the numbers likely to be hired, remuneration offered and job locations etc. Within three months students from 2 tier and 3 tier cities were trained & prepared for job roles in investment banking sector. Average graduates were made ready to be able to take back office job roles in multinational companies. We have got the trained youth placed in job roles like research analysts, surveillance executive, research advisor and other back office operations like custodial, settlements etc with reputed organizations.
We have students from all walks of life including students from financially challenged background. The program has enabled youth to take a career path that has transformed their lives. They have been provided with necessary skills that are required to have a sustainable livelihood. This transformation has not only changed their lives but also impacted the lives of people attached to them. It gives us tremendous happiness to see our students working in reputed organizations, taking care of themselves and contributing to their families.
