Dubai, UAE, 4 January, 2016: Dubai Autodrome and the Kartdrome are braced for a very busy year of racing and events starting with the biggest ever Hankook 24H Dubai on the weekend of 14-16 January.

The event has become a mainstay of Dubai’s prestigious sporting calendar and has entrenched itself as the international track racing season opener. This year’s edition boasts the biggest entry, with 40 teams running 100 cars for over 400 drivers.

Two weeks later, on 29-30 January, the first national race day of 2016 takes place at the venue with the region’s premier race series – the Porsche GT3 Cup Middle East – headlining the bill which also includes the NGK Racing Series, UAE Sportbikes and the Radical ME Cup.

In the first weekend of February, the Autodrome hosts the first ever Fun Cup weekend featuring teams of amateur drivers in 170 bhp purpose-built VW Beetle style race cars.

Three more national race days will take place at the venue on 19 February, 11 March and 1 April.

Taking place throughout the year will be regular Track Days for cars and motorcycles, with drivers and riders having the chance to enjoy sessions with like-minded aficionados in safe and secure conditions. Dates and timings will be available on www.dubaiautodrome.com

On Wednesday evenings between 6pm-9pm the Autodrome will host Daman Activelife TrainDubai for cycling, running, walking or rollerblading on the 2.46km floodlit Club Circuit configuration.

In between all these activities the track hosts corporate events, private testing, training, workshops and other activities which ensure that there is always something going on at the Autodrome.

Across the boulevard, in the heart of Motorcity, the Kartdrome is always a hive of activity with daily Arrive & Drive sessions making it the most popular venue of its kind in the region.

In 2016 the Kartdrome will host a number of race events including the O-Plate weekend on 22-23 January where local karting talent go up against international drivers with several big prizes up for grabs in what is being dubbed ‘a festival of karting.’

Less than a month later, on 12-13 February, the UAE Rotax Max Championship will descend on the venue for a double-header weekend which is likely to be decisive for the 2015-2016 championship outcome.

Also on the calendar, for the first half of the year, are rounds of the 2016 Endurance Championship Driven by Mini on 4-5 March and 29-30 April.

The Kartdrome – indoor and outdoor – are also popular venues for corporate events and birthday parties throughout the year.

Entry is free for spectators to all racing events at the Autodrome and Kartdrome, providing fans with easy access to drivers, team and behind-the-scenes and grandstand during race days.
