The Bhawanipur Education Society college (BESC) is conducting a major placement drive. 10 mid-sized companies congregated in the college on March 4th , 2017 to conduct Campus Interviews in the latest round, in which 30 students out of the 90 who had applied for placement were selected. The average salary at which the students were placed ranged between INR 120,000 to INR 240,000 per annum. This followed an earlier drive in which companies like Ernst & Young, TCS, HSBC, Future First and Indigo had gone through the process, resulting in the selection and placement of 116 students, taking the total number of Campus Placements to 146.
In a related development, BESC also conducted an Internship placement initiative in which 10 companies participated. 70 students of the college offered themselves for placement, of which 30 were selected. The internship fees varied between INR 4,000 and INR 10,000.
“We are extremely pleased to have initiated the process” said Prof Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs of BESC. “The response, from the companies and the student community is overwhelming, to put things mildly and I am confident of chalking impressive gains in the second round of fresh placements which is slated to begin in about two months’ time.”
“The industry comeback on the Campus Placement drive has been extremely positive and the feedback we have received from those who want to participate in the process in coming drives is very encouraging” said Miraj Shah, Vice Chairman of the College, who is all for the placement initiatives of the Institution. “Coming at a time when the economy is not in the pinkest of its health and when new recruitments have gone down to a virtual trickle, the numbers that have been chalked up are comforting” he continued.
“Our experience with BESC – the institution and its students as fellow workers have always been a very positive one” said one of the recruiters between conducting interviews. “BESC students are highly sought after as they are virtually industry ready, having been exposed to the various facets of business in which they are normally expected to apply their skills. The way the College authorities are leaving no stones unturned to ensure that the process of placements become as glitch-less as possible, is also commendable”.
It will not be out of place to mention here that BESC students who had applied and appeared for these interviews were provided with special counselling and support by selected members of the college faculty as well as some experts from the corporate sector with a view towards preparing them to face an interview board and excel. In this regard it is pertinent to mention the efforts put in by Prof Vijay Kothari and Prof Minakshi Chaturvedi, not to forget the hard work put in by the Student Placement Team.
