Mumbai, September 26, 2017: GVK MIAL’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport recently bagged the prestigious ‘Airport of the Year’ award at the Golden Star Awards 2017 organised by the World Quality Congress. The esteemed award was presented by Dr. R L Bhatia, Founder, World Quality Congress to GVK MIAL at the award ceremony held at Vivanta by Taj – Yeshwantpur in Bangalore.
As part of the award selection process, a third party assessment was conducted to gauge the best practices implemented at organizations across industries. Basis the evaluation, GVK MIAL’s CSIA was appraised by an independent panel of judges for its efforts towards achieving organisational excellence.
The accolade is an acknowledgement of GVK MIAL’s continuous efforts towards setting quality benchmarks and implementing best practices for the airport industry across the globe. This achievement demonstrates the airport’s constant endeavor to consistently offer a seamless experience to its stakeholders at CSIA.
Previously, the airport was adjudged as the ‘World’s Second Best Airport’ in the ‘Over 40 million’ category as well as in the Asia-Pacific region according to the ASQ Survey 2017 conducted by the Airports Council International (ACI). In addition to this, CSIA is one amongst the three airports in the world, to be inducted into the Airport Council International (ACI) Director General’s Roll of Excellence in 2015, for consistently being ranked amongst the top five airports in its category by ACI under the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program for five years (2009 to 2014).
