PD. Hinduja Hospital conducts self-defense and wellness workshop for underprivileged children and women on International Women’s Day

P.D.Hinduja Hospital organized a self-defence workshop for kids on account of _

March 8, 2016, Mumbai: Celebrating International Women’s Day 2016 today, P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre organized a special self-defense and Folka dance workshop for their women staff, underprivileged children from NGOs Magic Bus, CORO and Sahaara Charitable Society and women from rural areas of Jawahar Taluka where P. D. Hinduja Hospital runs special rural health programmes.

As part of the celebrations the hospital also conducted free health checkup and an interactive session on healthy eating by Dr. Roshani Sanghani, Consultant Endocrinologist at the hospital. The programme concluded with Chief Guest Raveena Tandon and Guest of Honour Moushumi Chatterjee, Bollywood actors, interacting with women and children inspiring them to empower themselves.

For almost three decades she inculcated the parivar culture at P. D. Hinduja Hospital and steered it towards delivering “Quality Healthcare for All”. Further, she paved the way for women empowerment by starting the nursing school which later became College of Nursing, the academic arm of P.D. Hinduja Hospital. Mrs. Lalita Girdhar Hinduja continues to be our guiding light.”

 

Present at the gathering, Mr. Gautam Khanna, CEO, P.D. In addition to the self-defense and Folka dance sessions, the participants were accompanied by the hospital’s women staff throughout the day to understand the importance of the role women play in providing quality healthcare services. This was initiated to motivate the future generation from NGO’s like Magic Bus, CORO and Sahaara Charitable Society to look at healthcare as a career prospect and empower them to take care of their health and safety.
