Mumbai, October 20, 2014:eBay India festive shopping survey based on actual transactions on ww.ebay.in in early October 2014, revealed interesting consumer shopping trends of India
- ebay.in witnessed a surge in mobile traffic of 46% this festive season as compared to 25% last year during the same festive season
- PC shopping saw a decline with 73% of the transaction being recorded this season as compared to 85% last year
- Metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad witnessed marginal decline in percentage of transactions. Durga Puja festivities continued to sustain interest for Kolkata online shoppers
- Cities like Kochi, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kanpur, Jaipur, Indore and Chandigarh saw 50-100% increased interest in online shopping this festive season as compared to last year
- Women shoppers are driving sales this festive season, shopping heavily for categories like Clothing & Accessories, Home & Living and Fragrances, Beauty & Health Products
- More and more consumers are preferring Cash-on-Delivery payment option over online payments and this again reflects from the increased interest from shoppers in Tier II cities
