IIM Bangalore heads the 2016 rankings
29 November, 2016, Bengaluru: For the eighth year in a row, in 2016, Eduniversal, Paris has ranked Indian Institute of Management Bangalore the top business school in Central Asia and has conferred the 5 Palmes of Excellence award on the institute.
Professor Sourav Mukherji, Dean (Programmes), IIMB, received the prestigious award in Perth, Australia, on November 28, 2016, during the ongoing 9th Eduniversal World Convention, which is an event for the best 1,000 B-schools worldwide, being held from November 27 to December 1, 2016 at Curtin Business School, Curtin University. Stating that this award is another feather in the cap for the institute, Dr. Mukherji observed, “IIM Bangalore’s efforts in strengthening research and teaching have paid handsome dividends by enhancing our international reputation.”
Professor Ishwar Murthy, Dean (Faculty), IIMB, lauded the efforts of the immensely talented faculty of the institute on winning the award. “We must acknowledge the contributions of our outstanding faculty who are all part of the immense success of IIMB as a management institute. We are at a stage now where we can build upon our strong foundation and attain greater heights of success. We are committed to continuing our investment in faculty and research.”
IIM Bangalore is one of the premier institutes for management education and research in Asia and it continues to enhance its global standing among management schools around the world through innovation and strengthening of its research and teaching programmes. The PGP, Executive PGP and executive programmes of the institute are very highly placed in global rankings.
IIM Bangalore’s two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) has been ranked 19 in the Financial Times Global Masters in Management 2016 ranking. IIMB is also the only management school in India to lead in school diversity with 28% women in the two-year programme, 21% women faculty and 25% of women on the school advisory board. The Top 20 schools, ranked by FT this year, include University of St. Gallen, HEC Paris, London Business School, Esade Business School, among others.
IIM Bangalore has also topped the list of best management institutes in the ‘India Ranking 2016’ prepared by MHRD’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
