Mixed Metal is the theme of embellishment this season. Gold, silver, copper, bronze, platinum and pewter come together in melded harmony.
Dyed and antique gota, zari , taar and dabka are embroidered in metallic ombres; the subtle sheen and tarnished effects are reminiscent of oxidised patinas. Floral trellises and geometric jaals adorn the surfaces of opulent tussar silk, flat chiffon, Benarasi Brocade, velvet and chanderi. The Collection is crafted in two parts: a lighter gota and sequin section, and a heavier zardozi segment. The colored and stained gota -work almost looks like marble inlay, while the tonal gradations of the zardozi metal- work are exquisitely elaborate.
The shapes are classic canvases for the intricate artworks. Simple lines, elegant layering, thoughtful proportions and interesting detail make for an appealing range that accommodates various occasions which marks the festive and wedding calendar.
