Inaugurating GRIDTECH, the 4th International Exhibition and Conference on New Technologies in Transmission, distribution, Smart Grid, Renewable Integration, Load Despatch and Communication. Secretary M/o Power, Sh. P. Uma Shankar said that GRIDTECH 2013 aims at forming a common platform for showcasing emerging technologies and state of the art products in Power System viz. Generation, Transmission and Distribution with focus on Smart Grid/ City and Renewable Energy Integration to International/National Power Utilities, Planners, Policy Makers, Investors, Consultants, Academicians, Research Institutions etc. This would facilitate faster integration of new Technologies in the Power Sector for the benefit of all. This event will also facilitate in identification of business opportunities in the electricity market in India and abroad.
He said that with active participation and sharing of experience/views of utilities, manufacturers/supplier community, experts and other delegates would make this International event a great success and some concrete strategies would emerge towards efficient development of T&D sector as well as effective application of emerging technologies in Transmission, Distribution, Load Despatch & Communication through Smart Grid to deliver economic power with desired security, safety, reliability & above all, the affordability.
He hoped that GRIDTECH 2013 would contribute to efficient development of the Indian Power Sector.
This important International event has received overwhelming response from manufacturers, academicians as well as experts in this field from India and abroad. In the exhibition, more than 120 International and National manufacturers will be showcasing their State-of-the-Art products & technologies. The exhibition shall be held at Hall no. 9, 10 & 11. Concurrent with the GRIDTECH 2013 exhibition, two International conferences for two(2) day each is being organised on 3rd & 4th April, 2013 – one focusing on the State-of-the-Art Technologies and emerging trends in the field of T&D, smart grid/city, renewable integration as well as synergic areas like load dispatch, telecommunication etc. at hall no. 12 and other International colloquium on UHV in association with CIGRE at hall no. 7D.
More than 80 technical papers on various facets of power system like 1200kV, 800kV HVDC, Voltage Source Converter, GIS, Synchronophasor measurement, WAMS, Smart Grid, renewables, distribution & electricity market are to be presented in the conference.
Recognising the importance for development of smart grid/city towards sustainability, POWERGRID will be demonstrating asmart grid/city solution through real life working of Smart Grid/City in a holistic manner. Further, towards indigenous development of technologies in the above fields and also channelize the development of emerging technology by the student community, a separate “Students Innovation Pavilion” is being setup to showcase working model of various new technologies in Indian context by the student community from more than forty(40) technical institutions in India and abroad.
The GRIDTECH 2013 is being held from 3rd – 5th April 2013 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
