Dear Friends,
As of today, 2.23 lakh of people are in camps, over 300 lives have been lost in ten days of torrential rain, landslides and floods 82,442 people have been rescued, but thousands remain yet to be rescued from isolated spots.
Today the Prime Minister is visiting the state and we hope to get substantially better support from the Centre.

The flood situation continues to remain grim. The road, rail and air transport continue to be disrupted. Communication too is heavily affected in the flooded areas.
The three Jesuit centres most affected: Sameeksha, Kalady, Edathua ITI and Loyola, Aluva have been relatively safe. In the latter two, they have moved out to safer locations. We hope and pray that there won’t be any substantial damage to the buildings.
The relief work has been coordinated by the state authorities, local agencies, Church agencies and ordinary folk. We are overwhelmed by the generous support and offer of support from many. Here is the Kerala Jesuit proposal:
We have joined hands with the local relief efforts wherever we are and will continue to do. For the long term efforts, we are focusing on the Wayanad area, one of the worst affected, through our own TUDI, Eachome . We are working out the concrete details. We will revert to you with request for concrete support.
Meanwhile, some of you have been offering financial and other support. For those of you who would like to contribute financially here are the bank details.
NAME OF ACCOUNT: JESUIT EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY
BANK: YES BANK, KOZHIKODE BRANCH
IFSC: YESB 0000 492
A/C NO. 0492 8870 0000 027
Thanking you for your generosity and seeking your intense prayers for a mighty intervention from the Almighty who alone can save the situation.
Fraternally,
thanks and regards
