HRISTO STOICHKOV & MONTEGRAPPA

HRISTO STOICHKOV & MONTEGRAPPA
A MATTER OF NUMBERS

Call it a happy coincidence – both Montegrappa and the Bulgarian football star from the 90’s – Mr. Hristo Stoichkov – have turned the single-digit 8 into a lucky number!

Whether designing pen collections with an octagonal shape, or wearing the jersey with number 8 in his team, this numerical leitmotiv speaks always of personal power, career success and authority.

With the UEFA Champions League finals enjoyed under the Spanish star just a few days ago, Mr. Stoichkov – a long time Barcelona player – was celebrating his 50th anniversary. Scheduled a week before the finals on May 20th, both the Golden Shoe (1990) and Golden Ball (1994) award-winner organized a spectacular charity match of the Football Greats in Sofia, naming it   “50 years number 8”.

As an official licensee of UEFA Champions League as well as zealous supporter of the “beautiful game”, Montegrappa was delighted to present Hristo Stoichkov, on initiative and with the kind collaboration of its Bulgarian distributor – Grafus 1991 Ltd., with a UCL limited edition pen. Entirely crafted in sterling silver, engraved with the names of the winning teams and the years of their victory since the first edition of Europe’s most prestigious soccer competition in 1954, the serial number of the pen was, naturally, number 8!

As a recognition to all his guests-of-honour, Mr. Stoichkov chose to gift 100 watches from our Essenziale collection, a sober time-wear design personalized exclusively with the Arabic 8 index.

To play or enjoy the party, there were over 40 football stars from the past and present, among those football legends such as Jorge Campos, Vincent Candela, Paolo Maldini, Mauro Camoranesi, Jean-Pierre Papin, Carlos Valderrama, Ivan Zamorano, Demetrio Albertini, Gheorghe Popescu, Gheorghe Hagi and many others.
