Mumbai, India – October 17, 2012: The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) and the Diamond Dealers Club of New York (DDC) have agreed to hold an “Israel Diamond Week” in New York, on the DDC trading floor. The event is to take place in November.
The agreement to hold the “Israel Diamond Week” was reached in a meeting between IDE president Yair Sahar and DDC president Reuven Kaufman during the 35th World Diamond Congress that was held this week in Mumbai, India.
Sahar and Kaufman agreed that the event will be hosted , at no significant cost to the participants, enabling IDE members to come and meet with DDC members to network, buy and sell goods.
Yair Sahar noted that this joint DDC-IDE initiative would certainly help strengthen the ties between the two major diamond exchanges. “We hope this will be the first of many business opportunities that we offer to our members, and as such will help increase and improve the commercial and personal ties between IDE and DDC members.”
“It’s a great opportunity for our members, their salesmen and potential buyers to get access to the Israeli diamond market and to forge new business relationships with Israeli colleagues,” Reuven Kaufman said.
Information about the exact dates of the “Israel Diamond Week” will be forthcoming shortly.
