IIM Lucknow: Achieves 100% Summer Placements in 4 days for one of the largest IIM batches in the country
This day, 22nd October, 2016, IIM Lucknow, one of the leading B-Schools of this country, yet again accomplished 100% summer placements for its 32nd batch of 458 students in 4 days. The recruitment drive saw participation from 151 domestic and international recruiters.The participation of these firms also marked the ascent of IIM Lucknow as a preferred recruitment destination for marketing, consulting & finance roles in the country.
The top 4 segments based on roles offered were sales & marketing, consulting, financeand business development including some extremely sought after and niche profiles in the finance domain. The rest of the offers came from domains such as operations/supply chain, general management, systems/IT, market research, analytics and HR.
Some of the top recruiters across different sectors were Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, A.T. Kearney, BCG, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, RPG, TAS & Uber among others. Our first time recruiters include ABinBev, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Duff and Phelphs, Master Card Advisors and Morgan Stanley among others. International profiles were offered by ABinBev, Deutsche Bank and Hindustan Unilever.
Profile breakup
The top segments based on roles offered were sales & marketing (30%), consulting (25%), finance (20%), e-Commerce (15%), systems/IT (5%) and general management (5%). The strong economic situation supported IIM Lucknowin attracting diverse roles in the finance domain. Rest of the offers came from domains such as market research, analytics, business development, social media marketing and HR among others.
FMCG/consumer goods/telecom/digital media sector
In the FMCG/consumer goods/telecom/digital media sector a total number of 140 offers were made with some of the top firms being ABinBev, Airtel, Asian Paints, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur, Hindustan Unilever, HT Media, ITC, L’Oréal, Mondelez, Marico, Nestle, P&G, Pepsi, Samsung & Star TV. In addition to the traditional sales & marketing roles, these firms offered roles in supply chain management, IT, finance, HR, and analytics with some of them being exclusive roles for IIM Lucknow. HUL, which was the top recruiter in this segment, opened the highest number of profiles this year.
BFSI sector
BFSI sector saw the participation of companies like Morgan Stanley this year which hired for its Investment Banking profile. This was a remarkable achievement for the campus in securing its position as a potential recruiting destination amongst premium recruiters. BFSI sector saw a total of 40 offers by firms such as Avendus Capital, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, BNP Paribas, Citibank, DBS, Deutsche Bank, Duff & Phelps, Edelweiss, Fidelity International, ICICI Bank, J.P. Morgan, Lumis Partners and Standard Chartered among others. The major roles were in front end investment banking, global markets, investment research, corporate/wholesale/retail banking, market research, trading and operations.
Consulting and General Management sector
In the consulting domain, Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, AT Kearney, Auctus Advisors, BCG, Deloitte, Hay Group, Hitachi Consulting & MasterCard Advisors made a total of 54 offers. The General Management and Strategy domain saw participation from companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Airtel, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, RIL, RPG and TAS among others. Aditya Birla Group and TAS are the highest recruiters in this domain.
IT/e-Commerce/Analytics sector
Some of the firms from the IT/e-Commerce/Technology sectors were Amazon, CIBIL, Cognizant, eBay, Microsoft, Snapdeal, Uber and Wipro. These firms opened not only IT/Systems profiles, but also roles such as category management, sales enablement, business development, supply chain management, product marketing, strategic alliances, program manager and analytics.
New Recruiters and profiles
32 companies hired for the first time from IIM Lucknow with over 60% coming from the Sales & Marketing, Finance and e-Commerce sector. Some of the other sectors that were represented by these firms were consulting, systems/IT, general management, media and automotive. The roles were primarily in sales and marketing, finance and e-Commerce. The healthy economic environment has helped IIM Lucknow maintain its status as a top recruiting destination and has attained 100% placements for its largest graduating batch.
The institute had created history last year by placing the largest IIM batch in 4 days during Summer Placements. This year, having achieved 100% placements for 5 consecutive seasons with new premier recruiters in each domain, IIM Lucknow has raised the bar for placements in Indian B-schools.
