Kolkata, 12th April, 2016: iLead Institute of Kolkata, in association with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), today presented the IICA Certification Program in CSR (ICP in CSR) at Kolkata as the only programme of its kind in India that is developing CSR Professionals in the country post enactment of Section 135, Companies Act 2013 on CSR. In 2015, ICP in CSR developed 170 CSR Professionals through its 1st batch. As an IICA partner, iLead, Kolkata is currently rolling out batch 2 in Eastern India.
The IICA was established as a think tank, action research, service delivery and capacity-building institute to serve the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, corporate entities and all other stakeholders in a one-stop-shop mode, providing a platform for value-adding partnerships between government and industry stakeholders. Set up as the premier organization for cutting-edge intellectual leadership in running sustainable businesses, the IICA also aims to build the capacity through a network of schools and centres.
The IICA was invested with the power to establish an academic centre for the creation and application of knowledge. In addition, IICA functions as a consultant to the professional bodies such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), all of which play a pivotal role in the management of corporate entities.
IICA renders holistic insight into all issues relating to corporate affairs that impact corporate functioning, including the legislative, policy, structural, governance, regulation and inter-disciplinary and coordination issues, keeping in view the current developments and likely future scenarios.

Mr Pradip Chopra Chairman, iLEAD Institute highlighted the Importance and Uniqueness of the ICP in CSR Program.
The duration of the Programme is 9 months (36 weeks), with the IICA reserving the rights to alter programme content, schedules etc. in larger interest of learning outcomes:
- A) 14 weeks of Online/Non-Contact Study during which transaction of the curriculum would be done in teaching mode, providing reinforcement, chat time through the Master Trainers provided by the ICP in CSR Partners and trained by the IICA, and other modes of e-learning through a Learning Management System.
- B) 4 weeks of contact classes with an online exam on 4 weekends to be undertaken at the premises of partner institutions like iLead. Batch 2 is currently partnering 15 such institutes across India.
- C) 12 weeks of Project Work undertaken with a NGO/Foundation/Trust/Society/Section 8 company facilitated by the IICA
- D) 3 Weeks of Corporate Attachment facilitated by the IICA
At the IICA, Nikhil is currently part of the core team that is working under the leadership of Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, DG & CEO, IICA to assist the rollout of the new CSR agenda in the country post enactment of Companies Act 2013.
