Sustain-e-sense
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) hosted its inaugural annual Business Sustainability fest “Sustain-e-sense” at its Noida Campus. The fest was organized by students of Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management. Various conclaves, conferences and scontests were organized during the three days. CSO conclave, Prerna awards for SME’s, Samvad- alum meet, Cyclothon were some of the key highlights of the event. Wipro Earthian was the title Sponsor, Coca-Cola, Jabong and Mrida were event partners.
At the time when Delhi is struggling with heavy Smog, this fest laid special emphasis on Climate change and Global warming, through one of the event “CSO conclave” which was organized on Day 1, where Chief sustainability officers like Shanker Venkateswaran (Chief, TATA sustainability group), Ishteyaque Amjad(VP, public affairs and communication, Coca-Cola) and Ashok B Chakraborty (CSO, NFCSR) deliberated their views on climate change, sustainable development goals and mega trends of 21st century and its business implications.
Day 2 witnessed conferences – Prerna and Samvad. Prerna, a social entrepreneurial conference where entrepreneurs, volunteers and people passionate about social impact congregated from across India to share their social enterprise experiences in the areas of youth awareness, education, social justice, agriculture and water harvesting. Samvad,a conference where aIIML’s alumni from Carbon Trade Exchange, Fortum, Ernst & Young, Cairn India, Aarohi, Accenture and ITC Infotech discussed their contributions in Sustainable Development.
Day 3 started with Cyclothon- Climate change is real and evident from the dense smog covering NCR. Cycling enthusiasts cycled 8 KMs wearing face masks to create awareness. Competitions like Quiz, B-Plan, and Case Study saw participation from B-schools all over India. The Fest concluded with a cultural evening in association with SPIC MACAY. PanditRajendraGanganiji an eminent Kathak performer mesmerized the audience with his performance.
