InnoTrans 2014: Leading trade fair featuring innovative tunnel construction and technical dialogue

InnoTrans_LogoBerlin, 28 August 2014 –Tunnels are a vital component of transport infrastructure. It is therefore logical that the tunnel sector will be demonstrating its capabilities and its innovative skills at the leading international trade show for transport technology in Berlin. The trade fair segment Tunnel Construction in Hall 5.2 features numerous exhibitors from Germany and abroad with their solutions for the maintenance of tunnels and for new construction work. They include such well known names as Amberg Engineering, Dräger, Herrenknecht, Talleres Zitrón and Woertz.

Powerful tunnel boring machines, construction materials and the latest communication and safety equipment can be seen in Berlin from 23 to 26 September. The display in the Tunnel Construction segment will also include special services such as the preparation of risk analyses and fire safety assessments. In addition companies in other segments of the trade show such as Railway Infrastructure are also presenting new technology for tunnels. In total, around 250 companies are displaying innovative products and services for the tunnel construction sector at InnoTrans 2014.

 

Up-to-date subject matter: International Tunnel Forum

 

Opportunities are also provided for updating one’s professional knowledge and for engaging in high-level discussions about current issues concerning the industry. During the InnoTrans Convention the German Research Association for Underground Transportation (STUVA e.V.) again invites trade visitors to discuss new ideas at the International Tunnel Forum. At the first Tunnel Forum, on 24 September, experts will address the question of “’Maintenance and refurbishment – what are the future tasks in tunneling?”. On 25 September, at the second Tunnel Forum, the discussions will focus on the question “Are new tunnels still financially viable?”.

Please note: Both of these forums will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. in the CityCube Berlin, Level 3, Room M8.
