Bhopal Archbishop Holds Prayer in Solidarity with Nepal Earthquake

Comission for Dialogue and Ecumenism, Bhopal organised an Inter religious prayer at Seva Sadan Tulsi Nagar, Bhopal here today. Fr. Shaji Stanislaus welcomed all the Dharmgurus and others.
The program was organised to pray for the repose of the souls of the people killed in the powerful earthquake that devastated Nepal and affected several states of India.
Present on the occasion were Dr. Leo Cornelio SVD, Archbishop of Bhopal , Gyani Dilip Singh ( Sikh Dharmguru), Pastor Sam Francis ( Protestant Dharmguru), Sri Nandlal( Hindu Dharm), many fathers, pastors, sisters and people of all religions. Archbishop of Bhopal Dr Leo Cornelio expressed his closeness to the people of Nepal after Saturday’s disaster.
Reciting the prayer in Seva Sadan Church, the Archbishop Dr Leo Cornelio said: “I wish to express my closeness to the populations struck by a powerful earthquake in Nepal and in neighbouring countries. I pray for the victims, for the wounded, and for all those who suffer because of this calamity. May they be sustained by fraternal solidarity.”
“I would urge everyone to join us in praying for the deceased and their loved ones, and give what they can so that we can get aid to those who need it most and help them make a full recovery in the weeks and months ahead” he added.
Respected gurus of different religions offered floral tributes to the earthquake
victims, read passages from Sacred Scriptures, Shed light on the readings and offered prayers for the repose of their souls. In the beginning, in between and in the the end soul stirring devotional Songs were sung by the choir led by Fr. Benitto and Sr.Thressi Lazar. Prayers for different needs of the earthquake affected people were offered by several people. Mrs. Rani Rosario did the anchoring and Fr. Jose Prakash proposed the vote of thanks.
