Invites Quick Heal CTO Shri Sanjay Katkar to offer expert advice on University IT courses and degrees
Mumbai, July 23, 2013 – Shri Rajesh Tope, Hon. Minister, Higher & Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra, expressed his support to Quick Heal Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Quick Heal”), a leading IT security solution provider, and urged the company to fight against growing cyber crime. He promised full support by the Govt. to address the challenges faced by the IT security software industry.
While addressing the staff of Quick Heal during his visit to Quick Heal’s Research and Development Lab, Shri Tope said that incidences of cyber crime have been increasing day by day. Reports of hacking of sites; cyber terrorism, state supported hacking, hacking activism, economic offences are on the rise. This highlights the crucial role that a company like Quick Heal with years of expertise has, in curbing these offences and spreading awareness”, Shri Tope said.
Emphasizing on the importance of education in this scenario, Shri Tope also focused on the fact that the current academic syllabus needs to be upgraded to meet these challenges. Going forward industry participation is required to keep the students abreast of the latest developments.
He also invited Shri Sanjay Katkar, CTO of Quick Heal to provide his expert advice on the syllabus for IT courses and degrees being offered by Universities.He added that the Vice Chancellors of Universities would be duly intimated about this so that a cohesive strategy towards implementing this education in the syllabus is taken at the earliest.
Shri Tope also added that Shri Kailash Katkar, MD & CEO, Quick Heal, is a great inspiration to upcoming entrepreneurs. He said he was proud that Shri Katkar started an organization that currently employs over 700 people with just a meager capital of Rs. 15,000. Today, Quick Heal has a global presence and has achieved a turnover of close to Rs. 215 crore. Quick Heal now is a name to be reckoned with not only in India but all over the world, added Shri Tope.
