Along with being the first airport in India to get ISO 14064-1:2006, MIAL, in 2011, became the first Indian airport accredited to Level 1 (Mapping) stage of Airport Carbon Accreditation program by ACI. In the year 2013 MIAL successfully upgraded its accreditation to Level 2 (Reduction) and in the year 2015 MIAL successfully upgraded to ACA Level 3 (Optimisation). The organization in association with Sustainable Maharashtra spearhead various activities in the focus areas like climate change, water reduction, CSR, Sustainability reporting, Renewable energy, Sustainable education etc.
