Indo American Singer- Mickey Singh gave his maiden performance in the Green City in the Sun
New Delhi, 21 August, 2015: Indo American singer Mickey Singh performed live in Africa for the first time in front of an eclectic mix of audience. He performed at the most happening club in Hyatt at Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania) and the Venom lounge in Nairobi(Kenya). Mickey was overwhelmed with the response he got from not only the Afro-Indian community but also the locals there as both the concerts were completely sold out.
Known for his wide range in singing, Mickey wants to take Punjabi music across the world. As such he adds a punch of western influence in his renditions. “Music connects you with others, and that’s the reason why it doesn’t matter if you perform in India, America or Kenya. If you have put your soul in it, it’s sure to strike a chord with your audience. I am really grateful for such an astounding response from Africa. I am really looking forward to performing again here,” said Mickey Singh.
Singh is known for his hit music video ‘Bad girl’ that garnered over eight million views on YouTube. In 2013, he gained recognition and acclaim after unveiling his landmark EP (extended play), ‘Mickstape’. He later did a Mickstape tour in 50 cities across North America. In February this year, he released the romantic number Hogaya Pyar featuring DJ Ice and 2NYCE. For Ishq Hazir Hai, he composed the music in collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh. Mickey released Galliyan Remix (a remix of the Bollywood song) with a tint of western touch, mix of Punjabi blended with Hinglish. The lyrics aren’t an imitation of the original track either. The song went viral.
Mickey Singh is all set to launch his next single Body in India. Teaser is expected to come out in August, 2015.
