The degenerating KR circle underpass that was being shunned by pedestrians is now spic and span and ready for the public to use. The underpass was rescued last week on the 12th of July 2014 by the Enamor sales team present in Bangalore from across the country who joined hands with The Ugly Indian for this initiative. The herculean task of cleaning the underpass was initiated by the Enamor employees and was finally completed by The Ugly Indians on the 1st of August 2014, making it a whopping 3 weeks taken by the teams for the task.
The pedestrian underpass was constructed in 2009 on Seshadri Road in front of SJ Polytechnic at the cost of Rs 65 lakhs. This underpass for years now had been deemed unusable by Bangaloreans because of several reasons ranging from safety concerns to unhygienic conditions. Led by Director Mr. Sumir Hinduja, COO Ms. Preeti Gupta & VP Sales Mr. Swadhin Mishra , the team consisted of 75 personnel who were present in Bangalore for the annual Enamor conference. Bangalore Mayor Mr. B S Sathyanarayana too rolled up his sleeves and joined the Enamor team in rescuing this fast deteriorating under pass.
The initiative left each and every Enamor volunteer with a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction at the end of the day. The brand and their employees hope to be a part of such initiatives in the future so that they can do their bit to contribute to the welfare of the society.
With the underpass looking spic and span, 2 security guards have been appointed to ensure that cleanliness and security is maintained. Enamor has appointed and employed one guard and The Ugly Indian has appointed the other, both guards are present between 7.30 PM to 7.00 AM to ensure mischief makers do not ruin the newly rescued underpass.
Ms. Sandra Daniels, VP Marketing, Enamor India said “It was a very satisfying experience for our entire team to be a part of this cleanliness drive by The Ugly Indians. We are committed to this effort and have hence decided to appoint a security guard to ensure that the area is not misused in the future”
Leading by example, Enamor has paved the way for cooperates to further contribute to society. Thrilled with the results of this mutual association with Enamor, The Ugly Indian will look at approaching further corporates to further contribute to the initiative of a cleaner society.
