Montegrappa hosts private dinner for the launch of ‘My Guardian Angel’ cult collection
Music, art, design & craftsmanship, good food and conversation are the cherished staples of Italian culture and lifestyle. Montegrappa brought it all together, in one magical evening, on September 30th, 2014, for the celebration of its new cult collection of writing instruments and accessories, ‘My Guardian Angel’, and to the delight of its distinguished guests.
Hosted by Mr. Giuseppe Aquila, Montegrappa CEO (who hailed from Italy especially for this occasion), the event was an intimate banquet, with local VIPs, collectors and media in attendance.
The stars of the Emirates Opera Project joined in the evening and delighted guests with a medley of classic and contemporary angel themed songs, performed with a rare sensibility, and accompanied by harp.
A special corner workshop display was set, where Mario Rossetti- a mastercraftsman from Montegrappa’s legendary workshop in Bassano del Grappa – proceeded to show guests the painstaking work, attention to details and skill required to create the stunning engravings featured on the pens.
The private dinner took place at the Showcase Gallery in Al Serkal Avenue, the city’s vibrant arts quarter. The monochrome exhibition of Mike Arnold, featuring architectural designs of places of prayers – cathedrals and mosques – provided a fitting backdrop for the reveal of the ‘My Guardian Angel’ collection.
Whether we believe in a supernatural entity that watches over us, or we think of it as an allegory for something otherworldly, the thought of a higher spirit who cares for our happiness is very comforting. That’s exactly the belief that inspired Montegrappa to create ‘My Guardian Angel’, a celebration of the positive, life-affirming energy common to all faiths.
The heavenly design of the pen features an angel standing tall on the barrel, fit with sword and shield; exquisite low-relief engravings in sterling silver or 18-carat yellow gold, inlaid with sky-blue enamel and turquoise details throughout; and finishes off witha dome of blueinlaid with sun rays, on the cap’s top.
The collection comprises 1000 sterling silver fountain pens and 912 sterling silver rollerball Pens, along with 100 solid 18k gold fountain pens and 100 solid 18k gold rollerball pens. The collection comprises also watches (333 pieces in sterling silver and 33 in solid 18k gold), and cufflinks (333 in sterling silver and 33 in solid 18k gold).
