11 July 2018, Bangalore: As digital takes the centre-stage and big-data acts as the primary catalyst for AI development globally, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) today inaugurated the 6th edition of its Big Data and Analytics Summit in Bangalore. Themed ‘Democratising AI’, the two-day event hosted leaders conferring to the inexorable shift from being an industry wide disruptor to business-as-usual witnessed by India Inc.
Bringing some of the finest minds in the Indian big data and analytics industry together, the Summit will host a series of panel discussions, fireside chats, and workshops, experts from across the globe to discuss the integration of newer technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Design Thinking into business models by envisioning and identifying the potential use cases.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Keshav Murugesh, Vice-Chairman, NASSCOM said, “Data science and AI technologies allows harnessing complex, high volume, high speed data into insights for decision making, emerging as the one of biggest growth opportunities for India to capitalise on. As new digital economies continue to rise across industries, there is a great demand for AI based servers and computing capabilities. The capacity of workers to master these new skills as well as the availability of talent will become key driver of competitiveness in the Big Data and Analytics industry.”
With leaders from organisations like Course5 Intelligence, dialogues on day 1 of the summit revolved around themes like embedding AI into business processes, supply chain application, data protection in the age of AI and effective man-machine interface to name a few. Last year NASSCOM identified six areas of specialization in the Big Data Analytics domain which are expected to be key to sectors growth in times to come. These are business analysts, solution architects, data integrators, data architects, data analysts and data scientists
