NASSCOM PARTNERS WITH DALIAN MUNICIPAL PEOPLE’S GOVERNMENT TO EVANGELISE GREATER BUSINESS COLLABORATION BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA

Organizes 1st India – China Dalian IoT Conference

 

Dalian, 20th Sep 2017: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), India premier trade body for IT-BPM companies, in collaboration with Dalian Municipal People’s Government today organised the 1st India – China Dalian IoT Conference at the seaport district of Dalian. Aimed at exploring opportunities for better alliances between Indian and Chinese companies, the day-long event was attended by over 50 delegates from the Chinese industry, and 30 delegates representing the Indian government and corporations.

India and China are two Asian economic powerhouses, who have made a mark on the global economy based on their services and manufacturing capabilities respectively. However, with changing dynamics around the world, the need of the hour is for both the counties to collaborate to enhance their strengths, building new solutions in the domain of automation, internet of things and artificial intelligence. When they combine the strengths of manufacturing and software, they will be able to build a robust ecosystem of Internet of Things (IoT) and smarter products that are in demand around the world.

Talking about the event, the Mayor of Dalian Municipal Government said, “India leads the world in software with great foundation of IT and BPO services. As one of the most important organizations of India and the IT and software industry, NASSCOM has made great contribution to the development of the global IT industry. We believe that the conference co-organized by the two sides, serving as a platform for the upgrading of industries of Dalian, will drive the integration of advanced IT industry of India and the strong manufacturing industry of Dalian. We hope that the two sides will take good advantage of this conference to strengthen communication, increase understanding, promote cooperation between Indian IT enterprises and Dalian manufacturing enterprises to achieve prosperous results in the areas of IoT, smart equipment manufacturing, and Big Data Analysis.”

Mr.  Sudhanshu  Pandey, Joint Secretary, Department  of  Commerce,  leading  the  Indian delegation  addressed  the  opening  session  and  called  for  greater  collaborative opportunities  between  Indian  and  Chinese  companies  in  the  IT  and  IT  Enabled  Services (ITES)  sector  and  encouraged  Chinese  companies  to  take  advantage  of  the  opportunities available  as  part  of  the  ongoing  Make  in  India  initiative  of  the  Government  of  India. The Indian delegation complimented the Chinese government’s initiative to liberalise and promote Trade in Services.

Spearheading NASSCOM’s efforts to create bridges with China and reiterating commitment to enhance Indo-China collaboration, Mr. Gagan Sabharwal, Senior Director, Global Trade Development, NASSCOM said, “India and China have both leveraged our human capital to become the world leaders in our domains, and are heralded as the fastest growing economies. With the new digital wave, today we have a unique opportunity to merge hardware and software together to create smart solutions for the world. It was really exciting to see the energy in this conference today, and am sure that this initiative will lead to many fruitful partnerships that will create value and add to jobs both in India and China.”

Nearly 30 leading Chinese and Indian companies from sectors like Software Development, IT Services, Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing, Retail, Investment Banking, Engineering, Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Technologies, New Generation IT and Healthcare participated at the daylong event. Key industry leading companies Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys and Genpact from India interacted with their Sino counterparts to forge partnerships for future collaboration.
