- BIKE TRAINING AND OFF TRAINING GIVES PRACTICAL LEARNING TO ASPIRING CYCLISTS
- #BeyondNationalChampions initiative takes a big step forward
India, 26th May 2017: Multiple time National champions Naveen John and Arvind Panwar led the first edition of Ciclo Academy Training Camps to a rousing success. Started with the vision to go #BeyondNationalChampions and raise the bar of what India can achieve at a global platform, the three-day camp was saw both amateur and professional cyclists come together and go through a practical curriculum that focused on drills, power tests, bike handling and other technical aspects.
The camp had individually-timed events of 2KM and 7KM rides up Nandi Hills. The rides established a fitness baseline for the cyclists, which will helped them figure out their progress in future rides. As a part of the training, the schedule incorporated a ‘Knowledge Center’ which comprised of exchanging ideas, the importance of mental and physical health, bike handling skills, hydration & nutrition techniques and also enabled the participants to engage in candid discussions with the mentors, Naveen John and Arvind Panwar.
At the camp were present 3 National champions- Naveen John, Arvind Panwar & Rutuja Satpute and 2 under 23 National champions- Phillip Karmokar and Parashuram Chenji.
Speaking about the Ciclo Academy, Mr. Ashish R Thadani who conceptualized Ciclo Café and is CEO, TI Absolute Concepts said, “Getting recognition in your country is an achievement, however you see your true standing when you compete on an international level. Ciclo Academy was formed with a goal to go #BeyondNationalChampions so each one can extensively work towards achieving higher targets. Naveen and Arvind have been the pillars of this initiative and have enriched the lives of the young participants with their learnings and years of international experience. It was also particularly gratifying to see the participants applying their learnings at the BBCh and emerging winners! It is a testimony to the fact that a little bit of aid and support can indeed help our young cyclists achieve laurels.”
“Ciclo Academy is a brilliant initiative focused on grass route level to inspire India’s young cycling talent. I’m happy to see this kind of focused technique learning which was missing earlier when we use to train. This platform gives us an opportunity to share our international competitive experience with these young riders. At this camp, we focused on identifying young talent and sharing advanced technical knowledge. The training included power tests, bike handling skills, upskilling riders with bike drills and much more. We are glad that everyone left being inspired to work towards their goal in a more objective manner.” said, Naveen John.
Provide a unique platform for young aspiring cyclists and cyclists from the community to interact with the best riders from Country.
Outcome – everyone left a little more inspired to work towards their goal in a more objective manner and working towards that.
