The Urban Development Department, Government of West Bengal is organising a press conference on the 19th of June in Kalyani to launch “Samriddhi – Kalyani Analytics City”.in association with The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCC&I).
Janab Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Municipal Affairs, Urban Development and Town and Country Panning, Government of West Bengal will address the press conference. Members of BCC&I, CREDAI Bengal along with other dignitaries will be present. The press conference will be followed by a site visit.
The city has been designed by renowned architect Sri Dulal Mukherjee who is also a Managing Committee Member of the Chamber, and the project has been conceptualised by Sri Kallol Datta – Immediate Past President of The Bengal Chamber, and Sri Ambarish Dasgupta – President Designate of the Chamber.
Says Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta, “The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry envisioned positioning Kolkata as a ‘niche city – which would mean promoting a select skill-set, just as Silicon Valley in the USA is known to be the home of technology companies and start-ups. West Bengal may take advantage of the most happening of businesses all around the globe – Analytics.”
The Government of West Bengal has identified 52 acres of land in Kalyani Expressway for the proposed project and will offer the plot through e-auction.
Kolkata can ideally leverage its advantage of being home to intellectual manpower which is its unique attribute, backed by premier higher education institutions like IIT, ISI, IIEST, JU, IIM and others.
The concept of the New Age Analytics Hub was launched at the “Business Analytics Innovation Summit @ Bengal” which was organised by the Chamber on 10th December 2014 in Taj Bengal, Kolkata in the presence of Janab Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Municipal Affairs, Urban Development and Town and Country Panning, Government of West Bengal, Dr. Amit Mitra, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Finance and Excise, Commerce and Industries, Information Technology and Electronics, Industrial Reconstruction, Government of West Bengal, and Shri Debashis Sen, IAS, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Town and Country Panning, Government of West Bengal & Chairman, WBHIDCO Ltd.
