Mumbai- February 2014– The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards has, in the last few years, become the country’s best-known platform to honor excellence in rock & roll. Now in its ninth year, Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards continues to recognize new and upcoming talent while celebrating the very best of India’s exponentially growing rock scene.
This year, the journey to the grand finale of the Jack Daniel Annual Rock Awards 2013 will see a series of build-up shows across the country, kicking off with the first show at Pune, followed by Bangalore and New Delhi. The build-up shows will be in the form of Jam Sessions featuring two leading bands who not only get guest artists to collaborate on their sets but also between themselves collaborate and play few numbers. The series of shows will culminate in a glittering, invite-only ceremony on 21st Feb 2014 at the Mehboob Studio, Mumbai. The tour and the finale are being organised in association with Rolling Stone India, the Indian edition of the world’s best loved music magazine. The event will be attended the big names of music, younger lot of bollywood celebrities, young fans from the world of fashion and hard core rock and Jack Daniel lovers.
This year at the award ceremony there will be a special launch of the much awaited and exclusive whisky from the house of Brown Forman- Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select. On stages throughout the world from 1950s thru the 1990s, Sinatra would always offer a toast to his audience with a glass of Jack Daniel’s in his hand. Hand selected by the Master Distiller Jeff Arnett, “Sinatra barrels” used to make the product were crafted to provide an extra full character and darker rich amber color by exposing the spirit to extra layers of toasted wood on the inner surface of the barrels. The extra rich barrels were mingled with classic Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey and bottled at 90 proof resulting in a character that is full of oak and spice notes with an exceedingly smooth vanilla finish. The smooth, bold character of the whiskey is meant to embody the smooth, bold character of the man.
Frank Sinatra was truly an icon and a real ambassador of the brand. Launching a special edition bottle for him at the music awards is a great way to remember the legend who was one of the brands biggest fans.
The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards is based on popular votes and the recommendations of a specially formed jury. To get more music lovers to interactively participate in the process, online voting for all nominated categories was initiated three years ago. Indian fans can cast their vote for three categories – Best Song of the Year, Best Album of the Year and Best Band of the Year –anytime between January 10, 2013 and February 10, 2014 through the website: www.jdrockawards.com. The winners will be honoured in a glittering, invite-only ceremony in Mumbai on February 2014. The winner of the Best Band of the Year award gets a cash prize of Rs 5, 00,000 or a chance to perform at an international Jack Daniel’s music event.
