Nrityanjali – A School of Odissi celebrated & promoted Indian Classical Dance Forms & Culture at the Nrityangana Festival

New Delhi, May 22, 2017: Celebrating visceral Odissi dance forms, the Nrityangana Festival was concluded successfully on the 12th May 2017. The spirited dance and cultural festival was presented by Nrityanjali – A school of Odissi and Folk Dances, founded by Guru Samaru Meher at Karnataka Sangha. The occasion was graced by the presence of its Chief Guest, Dr Prabhas Singh, Member of Parliament.

Other dignitaries presented at the Nrityangana Festival made it a celebratory and star-studded occasion. Present at the festival were:

Hon’ble Guest shri A.V.Swamy (Member of Parliament)

Hon’ble Guest Shri Pradip Das( Director finance ITDC)

The spectacular cultural event was presented by aspiring artists and performers of the Nrityanjali. Together, the created an overwhelming and spectacular potpourri of various Odissi dance forms like Mangalacharan, Batu, Pallavi etc, as well as the foot stomping Sambalpuri folk. Furthermore, there were presentations by Shalu Srivastav for Kathak and Tvishi Duggal and Gayatri Seth for Bharatnatyam.

The event was very well accepted by many from within and outside the industry. In particular, Nrityanjali is lauded for carrying the banner high in the field of promoting Indian classical Dance and propagating the culture and tradition of Odisha to far-fetched areas.
