Outlook presents OSM Awards 2016, India’s first social media awards
New Delhi, 5th October 2016: Outlook Magazine hosts a successful season of India’s first social media awards – OSM 2016. Held in the capital city, this Award ceremony is the first ever platform to honour the stars and superstars of the social media world. Eminent personalities, youth icons and dignitaries, graced the ceremony as Outlook lays the red carpet for OSM Awards 2016 at The Mansion, Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.
The gap between the tangible and the intangible is diminishing, if not disappearing completely tangible and the intangible is diminishing, if not disappearing completely. Social Media has enabled celebrities, politicians, society influencers and brands connect with their fans and followers at any given moment. Through Social media followers are not only updated on the happenings in their favourite celeb’s life, but also get an opportunity to interact with them on a one to one basis. With changing times, it is now online that revolutions are formed, opinions are made, political battles are won, ideas are shaped and virtues are questioned. Therefore, Outlook has chosen their 20th anniversary to salute, celebrate and reward these outspoken, outstanding outliers of the social media ecosystem.

Dr Shashi Tharoor heads the jury of the awards with the other prominent members like Prasoon Joshi, Ritu Beri, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Anuja Chauhan, Advaita Kala, Dilip Cherian, Rajesh Ramachandran (Editor-in-chief Outlook) and few other important people from the world of digital. Through a vigorous process of research, voting and jury some of the most influential names in social media are selected. The winners are decided on the basis of reach numbers and engagement on social media platforms, primarily Twitter, Blogs, Facebook and Instagram.
