Berlin, 03 September 2014 – The Railway Technology segment: this is the heart and soul of InnoTrans.Occupying 28 display halls and with over 1,500 exhibitors, more than 60 per cent of whom are from abroad, this segment is setting new records again this year.The range of products includes everything from components and systems to new engines and rail vehicle services.Accordingly, from 23 to 26 September trade visitors at InnoTrans 2014 will be able to obtain a comprehensive overview, unmatched anywhere in the world, of all the main rail technology innovations.
Exhibitors include the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers, companies such as Alstom, Bombardier, Siemens, GE Transportation, CSR and CNR.Once again, international suppliers make up the majority of exhibitors in the Railway Technology segment.Around 200 exhibitors are taking part for the first time, among them Amsted Rail from the US and Belgrano Cargas y Logistica from Argentina.The state-owned company that operates the country’s freight rail network will premiere for two reasons in Berlin: it is also the first company ever from Argentina to be represented at InnoTrans.
Layout of the exhibits
Innovative track-bound vehicles are on display on the InnoTrans rail track and outdoor display site.Inside Halls 12 to 17 surrounding the Radio Tower the focus is again on energy and electrical engineering.Innovative cables, batteries, relays and transformers are on show here.Maintenance is one of the main topics in the new CityCube Berlin,where Deutsche Bahn is featured prominently with its subsidiaries.Inside Hall 9, which was specifically designed to take heavy loads, visitors can take a close-up look at special-purpose high-performance machines, some of which weigh over 20 tonnes.
InnoTrans features numerous world premieres: among other companies, ABB Railway, Knorr Bremse and Voith Turbo are showcasing products in the Railway Technology segment that are appearing on the world stage for the first time.
