Rick Robertson Says In This Court Battle The Kids Claim Victory

koonsfullerPlano, TX, April 8, 2013 – Rick Robertson of KoonsFuller, P.C. Family Law believes custody battles should be just as likely to favor the father’s case; his experience in family law means fathers do get a fair chance at gaining custody. His client, former Dallas Cowboys star Deion Sanders, recently won full custody of his two sons, ages 11 and 13. He will share custody of his 9-year-old daughter with his estranged wife, Pilar Sanders.

Deion Sanders, now a TV personality, will have sole control over where his sons go to school, receive medical care and extracurricular activities. “It is crucial for judges and juries to impartially look at the fathers’ capabilities,” Robertson says. “The children should always win.

“We let our clients know that the key to success, financially and emotionally, is learning to operate as a divorced couple rather than a married couple,” he says. “The rules as you once knew them no longer apply.”

Mr. Robertson also speaks to churches, civic groups and even lawyers on many topics including staying married and the many challenges that face those who decide to divorce.

“We always offer clients the possibility of saving their marriages,” he says. “We don’t need to drum up business, and we would much rather see people get their lives in order. But if a divorce is inevitable, we are zealous advocates for them.”

Mr. Robertson is one of Collin County’s best known divorce attorneys and anchors the Plano office for KoonsFuller. He has been selected one of the Top 100 Attorneys in Dallas-Fort Worth (Thomson Reuters, 2005), the Top 50 Attorneys in Texas (Thomson Reuters, 2012), has been nominated a Super Lawyer for 10 consecutive years (2002-2012 Thomson Reuters), was featured on the cover of the 2011 Texas edition of Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters, 2011) and Awarded Best Go-To Lawyer for Texas Lawyer’s Go-To Guide.
