Mumbai April 07, 2016: SAMCO Ventures, promoter and holding company of SAMCO Securities, a Mumbai based discount broking firm, successfully completed first year of the country’s only capital market league the Indian Trading LeagueTM.

The Indian Trading LeagueTM (ITLTM) was launched by Kapil Dev, former Indian cricketer, who also started his first innings as an investor in the venture at an event held in Mumbai.

Mr. Chaitanya Jaiswal, a day trader from Indore won the first edition of this league by generating 3176% returns in a span of mere 10 months. The league started on 19th May last year.

Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Union Cabinet Minister felicitated the winner at an event held in New Delhi.

With this Mr Jaiswal wins the coveted title of India’s best trader and also becomes country’s first common man to be a fund manager of a million dollar fund from the ITL. Along with this he also wins a Rs. 1 crore cash prize.

The Indian Trading League is a career defining moment for Mr Jaiswal, having got the opportunity to officially show case the results to the public large, gave a stamp of approval to his trading success which has motivated him to start his own trading academy and teaching the art to upcoming traders and investors.

With this first edition, ITL has broken a long standing myth that intraday trading is not profitable or higher returns are possible only in options trading. It was all challenged and proven wrong with the staggering returns generated by the winners.

Commenting during the event, Mr. Jimeet Modi CEO, SAMCO Ventures said, “The Indian Trading League’s competitive platform ignited the fire in every market participant to perform better day-in day-out. It inspired a winning attitude week after week as all of the best traders were participating for the honors that the league bestowed upon them and consequently trading had now become goal oriented, a pre requisite for any success. ITL took trading to a whole new level of experience, which involved real money, real markets, real people and real returns.”

The winners of the other leagues include Ms. Jyoti Kushwah who won India’s best Woman Trader and first runner up of ITL Traders League by generating 2266% returns. She has being awarded 100 grams of gold and Rs.10 Lakh cash prize.

Similarly, Mr. Mohammed Pulath has generated 427% returns thereby winning the title of India’s best Commodity Trader and cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh.

Mr. Vishvesh Vijayvargiya has won India’s Best Investor by generating 1417% returns. He has being awarded Rs. 5 lakh cash prize.

The common traits among all the winner was they always kept their stop losses. They all were very disciplined to follow their trading system every day without any exceptions. Each trader had developed a unique trading style based on their own psychological make-up. Commodity traders mastered the art of trading in only one or two commodities and the focus helped them generate phenomenal returns. Stock traders focused on breakouts, volumes and played for risk to reward ratio higher than 1:2 with rigorous money management practices. The major difference between the winners & others was not merely the trading strategy, but the ability to psychologically recover even after large losses.

SAMCO’s discount broking model brings in far more benefits to the investors as it only charges a flat fee of Rs 20 per transaction irrespective of the order size, resulting in savings of over 90 per cent in brokerage costs. This flat fee structure is applicable for trading across all asset classes – Equities, Derivatives, Commodities and even Currencies.

The venture, which was being sculpted over the last one year, has already witnessed investor attention with Kapil Dev, London based Bay Capital Founder Siddharth Mehta and other investing USD 3 million as Series A investors. Further, the venture is already in initial talks for Series B funding.
