Siemens Metals Technologies has received an order from Tata Steel, an Indian steel producer, to modernize the secondary emission system in LD2 shop in Jamshedpur. The aim is to reduce emissions – both in the plant itself and in the exhaust air – to reduce to a level as per the regulatory norms. In future, dust levels in the factory will be less than 4 mg/Nm3, and will not exceed 30 mg/Nm3 at the stack. The project is part of Tata Steel’s campaign to reduce its local environmental impact and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.
