Yaara Silly Silly could fetch Paoli Dam A National Award : Subhash Sehgal

Senior editor-director Subhash Sehgal whose next directorial venture Yaara Silly Silly is ready for release feels that Paoli’s intense performance in ‘Yaara Silly Silly’, could fetch her a National Award.

“When people got to know that Paoli is playing a role of a prostitute in my film, again they wanted to slot into ‘Hate Story’ category. But I assure you that there is no vulgarity, nudity or skin show in the film, with performances shining through.”

Said the director who has earlier edited Gulzar’s films and also directed Sunny Deol and Mahima Chaudhry starer Pyaar Koi Khel Nahi.

“Paoli has displayed her amazing potential in the Bengali film industry, where she’s renowned for her acting chops. But this time in Bollywood with ‘Yaara Silly Silly’, I’m extremely confident that even the Hindi film industry will look up to her as a talented actor,” said Sehgal.

“There have been several good female-oriented performances on display this year, but I feel that Paoli’s act will stand out and be counted despite our film being a smaller film. I think she is one of the strong contenders for the National Award this year.” he added.

Paoli plays the role of a sex worker in the film and is paired opposite Parambrata Chatterjee, with whom she’s done several Bengali films.

‘Yaara Silly Silly’ directed by Subhash Sehgal is jointly produced by Reena Bhushan Suri and Neena Subhash Sehgal under the banner ‘Movee Dreems’.

The film is slated to release on 6th November.
